Witchy Canvas & New Set

I have another canvas project for you today. This one is a little different because I used the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper for my focal point. This sheet of paper has several blocks of words that you could use to make a collage of canvases to display for Halloween.

I created this one the same way as my Christmas Tree canvas. I applied the paper to my canvas with Modge Podge, stamped some fun images from the Halloween Hello stamp set with Black Stazon, added the Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape, a button and some bling!

Did you know that you can color your Basic Rhinestones and Pearls? I colored these rhinestones with an orange Sharpie Marker to coordinate with the Halloween theme. Before you remove the rhinestones or pearls from the paper backing, just choose a color to match your project, color, let dry a bit, then apply! I love these great little gems. I love them even more colored!

If you're looking for another Halloween stamp set to complete your projects, check out this super spooky new Photopolymer Set ~ Bite Me! I'm not crazy about spiders, but I really like this spider web. I just might be able to make myself stamp these silly little things on a project.Bite Me Photopolymer Stamp Set
I hope you enjoyed today's project. If you have any questions about how to create these fun canvases let me know.

Another Addiction!

Well friends, here is another project that once you make one, you'll definitely want to make more! During our Living a Creative Life class at Convention, Carrie Cudney presented a super fun Halloween canvas that she created using mixed media. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to try it. Well, today I finally got to it. I Love it!

I started with a white 6x6 canvas purchased at my local craft store. I liked the primitive look of Carrie's project and wanted to keep that theme. I thought a Christmas tree would be an easy image to start with. I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog, cut into strips to form my tree.

As I was laying out my design, I thought how cute would it be to put a ruffle at the bottom of the tree. After I tried it, I thought how cute would it be to put a ruffle between each layer! I used the Baked Brown Sugar 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim. This trim comes in all the great new In-Colors.

I made the trunk of the tree using the "bark" paper from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit, also found in the Holiday Catalog. I inked the edges of all the paper strips and added some faux stitching to keep with the primitive look.

I am totally addicted to these adorable canvases. I have all kinds of images running around in my head that I want to try. I can't wait to make more!

Last but not least, here's my card for today. This card was inspired by Connie Babbert, a fellow demonstrator. I loved her color combination of Crumb Cake and Soft Sky. I changed my card up a bit, and added Brushed Gold Card Stock for the Deco Label behind the circle. I used the Gold Metallic Encore Ink for stamping the woodgrain look background in the circle, and scuffing the embossed background. I stamped the acorns with Black Stazon Ink, and colored them with my Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painter. It's hard to see here, but I added a touch of gold ink to the acorns too.

Here is a close up of the detail.

Thanks for hanging in there with me to the end. Have a great day ~

Thankful Tablescape Floral Arrangement

Here is another project using the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit. Anyone who knows me, knows my second passion to Stampin' Up! is floral design. I love combining my two greatest passions!

Here is a close up of the detail ~

I created this floral arrangement in a Ball jar and then simply wrapped the jar with the Bark Paper from the kit. I sponged the leaf edges with Tangerine Tango Classic Ink, added the Truly Grateful banner and tied a knot around the mouth of the jar with the 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon.

This will be a great addition to my table decorations during the Fall season. You can find all of these products in the Holiday Catalog. The Ball jar was purchased at my local craft store.

Don't forget, there's only a couple more days to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and get your first two months half price.

Not Just For Table Decor!

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, there are many perks. One of those is the opportunity to pre-order items from upcoming catalogs so we have time to create and share before the catalogs are released. One other perk is getting a discount on certain bundles, depending on your title. With my pre-order from the Holiday Catalog, I was able to order the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit at a significant discount. Now, I wasn't sure that I would use this bundle for it's intended purpose, but I couldn't pass up the discount ~ right?

I love versatility! At convention, Sarah showed us an adorable album that she created, which I will definitely try, but I was looking for something a little simpler. I saw a card similar to this, so I recreated it using items that come in this kit. I added just a couple of other products. The Very Vanilla Card Stock for the base, the sentiment, from the Truly Grateful Stamp Set, and the Bitty Banners Framelit Dies. If you don't have these dies, you can easily hand cut your banners.

I love texture, and this Bark Paper has a wonderful texture to it. It looks like real tree bark! The leaves are pre-cut die-cuts on printed paper. I sponged the edges to soften it a bit, and make it look as if it is changing colors with the fall season.

The items in the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit are exclusive to this kit. The stamp set can be found in the Holiday Catalog, and the Bitty Banner Framelit Dies can be found in the Annual Catalog.

Check back tomorrow. I have a couple more creative ideas to share with you on how you can use your Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit!

Just a friendly reminder that the PUMPKINDEAL will be expiring soon. If you'd like to join and get your first 2 months at half price, you'll need to do that before midnight, August 31. Click HERE to join now!
