"Free" Range Rooster

If you know me at all, you know that I love chickens and roosters. I don't own any real ones, but I do have "grand" chickens! My son and daughter-in-law recently added chickens to their family, and they have just begun to lay eggs. I'm anxious to try out their home-grown eggs!

Any way, when I saw the Home to Roost stamp set in the Sale-a-Bration brochure, I couldn't wait to place my $50 order to get this set Free! We've had chicken and rooster sets in the past, but in my opinion, this is the best rooster that we've ever had!

I CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) this card from another Demonstrator. I omitted the ribbon and twine that she had added to simplify it a bit. I just love the Buffalo Check Background, still available from the Holiday Catalog, and the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, also carrying over from the Holiday Catalog.

I've colored the rooster simply using my Light Crumb Cake, Light Real Red Stampin' Blends, and added a bit of Light Pool Party shading to "ground" the rooster.

I've left the sentiment off for now. I can easily add it when I decide who the card will be going to, and what the occasion is.

If you were to purchase the Buffalo Check Background stamp, the Corrugated Embossing Folder, two Stampin' Blends, and two packages of cardstock to create this card, you would earn the Home to Roost Sale-a-Bration stamp set Free!

Amazing Life

The Amazing Life stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog is an amazing new photopolymer stamp set! It has 17 sentiments and images for amazing versatility!

The first image here, shows the Take & Make we were given at OnStage in Orlando. A Take & Make is a project to "take" and "make" when you get home. After I made my project at home, I fell in love with it! I decided to adapt it to a standard size card, the size I typically use for my classes. This is the second image shown here.

With so many images and sentiments in this set, you can create a variety of cards or other stamped projects for lots of different occasions.

I hope you love this card too, because we will be making it in my next Quick & Cute class on Monday, February 4, 2019. If you haven't reserved your spot yet, you can rsvp by visiting my website ~ www.debbied.stampinup.net.

DistInktive Design

Last year, Stampin' Up! introduced a new type of stamp called DistInktive. This style of stamp lays down the ink at different opacities to give the image a more photographic look. It's almost magical, and amazing how this works.

The Needle & Thread stamp set used here is a DistInktive set. You can see here, how real the stitching on the large flower appears. It's stamped, not stitched, I promise! The smaller flowers are the same, but a little hard to see in this photo.

I love the accent stitching pieces that come in this set, and the coordinating Thinlit Dies are amazing. There is one that just adds the perforated stitching lines to create a beautiful background piece, and one to add stitching around the coordinating Pretty Label Punch. I love all the versatility and coordination!

When you purchase the Needle & Thread Bundle and coordinating Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper, you qualify to choose a free Sale-a-Bration item! What free item will you choose? Leave me a comment. I'd love to know your Sale-a-Bration choice!

Stamps Ink & Paper

While at OnStage this past November, a big part of the discussion was "getting back to the basics". Getting back to the core of what our business is all about. Stamps, Ink and Paper; Simple Stamping. With all of the latest tools, accessories, and embellishments, it's easy to forget that we can make great projects using only our Stamps, Ink and Paper. Don't get me wrong. I love all the tools, accessories and embellishments, and will continue to use them for sure! But, I can make great projects using only my basics! Today's card is one of those projects. A one-layer card using only Stamps, Ink and Paper.

This is the Incredible Like You Photopolymer 2-Step Stamp Set found in the Occasions catalog. It has great floral and accent images and four sentiments.

So, what do you think about Simple Stamping? Give it a try and post your project in a comment. I'd love to see what you're stamping.
