Sweet Cake

Today's card features the fun new stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog, Sweet Cake, and Designer Series Paper, Twitterpated. I love the color combination of Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink and Basic Grey.

I stamped the cupcake image twice, once with Basic Grey Classic Ink, and once with Pretty in Pink. I cut out the pink cupcake by hand, and adhered it with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the cherry, cut it out and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the same stamp set. I used my markers again, to get the multi-color stamped image. I used Riding Hood Red and Pear Pizzazz to coordinate with the DSP.

To bring in a little more pink, I added a bit of the new Pleated Satin Ribbon. A product saving tip here ~ just put about a 1" piece on either side on the main image, instead of going all the way across the card. Then I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the main image to my card. The little red heart was cut with the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslit.

Do you want to make this card? If you bought the products to make it, you could earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration item! Now through March 31, earn free product with every $50 you spend. Contact me or visit my website for more details.

Simple Valentine

I have a cute, simple Valentine Card for you today. This one uses the Candy Conversations Stamp featured in the A la Carte section of the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Yep, this is one stamp! I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the hearts. The colors I used are, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Real Red, Riding Hood Red, and Cherry Cobbler. I also couldn't resist using the new Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder again. These are just like the regular embossing folders, but they are only 1" wide, so you can add adorable embossed accents to your cards or scrapbook pages.

I added a simple strip of 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon and used some Linen Thread to tie on the Love Tag from the Trinket Hearts, also found in the Occasions Mini.

Tomorrow kicks off Sale-a-Bration 2012! Are you ready to earn FREE exclusive product?
With every $50 you purchase, you can choose free Stamps, a Ribbon & Brad Bundle, Cardstock, Designer Series Paper & more! Host a Workshop between January 24, 2012 and March 31 and earn even more! Contact me for more details.

Framelits Fun Storage Solution

I am loving the new Framelits Dies. They are great for cutting and layering both cardstock and Designer Series Paper. I also love that they come in their own little folder, to keep them all together, and it's labeled! I do have another little trick or technique, to share with you that you may want to try to make storing your folders even more fun!

This is how they come. All together, with a sticky strip of adhesive in the center to hold them on a light-weight piece of chipboard.

I took the Framelits off, and added a piece of Magnet Sheet, approximately 2" wide. You don't need to cover the entire piece of chipboard. If you haven't seen these, they are sold on page 216 in the catalog and can be cut with the Big Shot. More fun projects just waiting to be created!

Now, this is the fun part! I had a lot of extra Beau Chateau Designers Series Paper from another project, and it's one of my favorites, so I covered the entire piece of chipboard with DSP. Now you can put your Framelits back on the chipboard. No adhesive necessary, they just stick to the magnet, so they won't fall off when you slip them back into their folder!

Stampin' Up! has stated that they will be coming out with more Framelits, Edgelits and hopefully more of the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders like the Adorning Accents. Another nice thing about the folders is that you can store your smaller sized embossing folders in the coordinating Edgelit Folder! I love organization, and I love it even more when it's all done for me! These handy folders store perfectly in the Medium Big Shot Die Storage Box.

I hope you enjoyed today's little tip. And don't forget, Sale-a-Bration is just a couple of days away!

Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peek

With Sale-a-Bration just a few days away, I thought it was time to give you a little peek of some of the Exclusive products that you can earn for FREE! Here is my card honoring the Sale-a-Bration ~

This card features the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper. I am in Love with this assortment of paper! It is so beautiful and coordinates with the 2011-2013 In-Colors. During Sale-a-Bration, when you spend $50 you can get this pack of 12x12 paper FREE. You will get 12 sheets, 2 each of 6 double-sided designs.

The sentiment is another SAB exclusive item. This is the Outlined Occasions Stamp Set. It is a set of 6, and can also be yours FREE with a qualifying order. I stamped it on Naturals Ivory Cardstock, and colored it in with my Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker. Then I cut it in to a tag shape and added the brad and ribbon, which are also SAB products. The Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack coordinates with the DSP and comes with 2 spools of ribbon, Calypso Coral & Lucky Limeade, 10 yards each, and an assortment of coordinating brads.

I used the new Framelits Labels Collection to cut the DSP. To enhance the vintage look of the paper and add dimension, I used my Sponge Daubers and Soft Suede Classic Ink to sponge the edges. To give extra dimension, I used Stampin' Dimensionals on the second and third layers. The small floral piece I hand-cut. I added a small piece of scallop border to the tag, punched from Calypso Coral Cardstock with the Scallop Border Trim Punch.

The Framelits are great and easy to use. They coordinate with stamp sets found in the Occasions Mini. Since they are frames, they enable you to see where you're placing the design on your paper before you cut, so you can center them over a stamped image or an image on the patterned paper like I did here. I Love them!

Sale-a-Bration starts January 24. Remember you can place your orders online, anytime, from the comfort of your own home, enjoying all the same benefits and have your orders shipped directly to your doorstep!

Little Red Frame

I got my stamp set that I won when I entered my Flirtatious Bag on Shelli's Creative Blog Challenge! I got to choose any stamp set that I wanted, and I chose Fabulous Phrases. It's a 30 piece set of words in a really fun font. I can see so many possibilities! My first project I just had to copy the little frame from the catalog. Here's my version.

This is a little 3x3 frame. I Love these little frames, and have had so much fun stamping different designs in them. I should have used my Stamp-a-ma-jig, but was being a bit lazy, and a lot excited to use my new stamps. My spacing is a little off. I did use the Clear Mount Stamps, which made lining up the words easier.

I used Naturals Ivory Cardstock for the base and stamped the words with Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red Classic Ink. The heart is punched out with the Small Heart Punch from Real Red Cardstock. I punched two vertical holes in it and tied Linen Thread through them securing it to the back with a Stampin' Dimensional. I layered it on Basic Black and put it in the frame.

There are only 7 more days until Sale-a-Bration! Are you making your list of things you need to order so you can earn some FREE exclusive products? I'm also filling up my calendar, so if you want to gather your friends and Host a Workshop, you can earn even more! Contact me for more information.

Key To My Heart

This Valentine card was created using another great product found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. This is the Designer Cuts Card & Envelope Set. The heart design is laser cut into the card. All you have to do is add a little embellishment and a sentiment & your card is done!

I've done a little more here. I sponged the heart with Baja Breeze Classic Ink and cut the heart out with the coordinating Heart Framelit Die and my Big Shot. I used the new Baja Breeze Pleated Pleated Ribbon to outline the heart and used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it back on to the card. I added a layer of Baja Breeze Cardstock on the inside of the card.

The sentiment is from the You're a Gem Stamp Set, cut with the Framelits Die and layered with a heart punched from Baja Breeze Cardstock with the Full Heart Punch. I tied a Key Trinket and a New Heart Trinket, found in the Occasions Mini, on the heart using Linen Thread.

The Banner was created using the New Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Adorning Accents and the coordinating Edgelit Die. I embossed a piece of Baja Breeze Cardstock first, then cut it with the Framelit Die twice to make the banner.

I am having so much fun playing with all of my new toys from the mini. I think I'll see what I can do with the new Blossom Punch and Mixed Bunch Stamp Set next!

Forever & Always

Here's another Valentine Card using lots of new products featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The Designer Series Paper, Twitterpated, is so pretty. I Love the colors and the smaller patterns are perfect for card making.

I've used the Take It to Heart Stamp Set, and the Framelit Dies & my Big Shot to cut them out. One more new product, that I never pass up when they come out, is the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die. The little green polka dot heart was cut with this ~ I Love it! The banner comes with this stamp set, and is perfect for all of the words in the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set. This set has 11 different words or sayings that are perfect again for card making. They would also work wonderfully on your scrapbook pages.

I did hand-cut the banner. Here is a close up of some of the detail.

Have a great day & Thanks for stopping by~

Occasions Mini Valentine

The selling period for the Occasions Mini Catalog has begun! This mini is full of fun new Stamp Sets, Designer Series Paper, Ribbon, Buttons, Tools and more. I finally had some time to try out some of these new products. Here is a Valentine card inspired by the tag featured on page 7 of the mini.

I Love everything about this catalog! I use my Big Shot in almost every project, so I was extremely happy to see the new Framelit Dies. These are a bit different from the dies we've had in the past. They are wafer thin dies designed so you can see what you are cutting. The Heart Collection used here, comes with 6 dies, designed to make layering a breeze! This set coordinates with the Take it to Heart Stamp Set, also featured in the mini.

Another great new product is the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Adorning Accents, used here. These are smaller than the regular embossing folders, designed to add embossing to the edges of your cards. This set comes with 3 folders, that coordinate with the new Edgelit Dies, and of course, the Bordering on Romance Stamp Set, so you can stamp, cut & emboss so easily!

One more item I am completely in Love with is the new 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon! It is available in 4 colors. I've used the Blushing Bride here. It is gorgeous and so easy to use.

You can view the entire mini by clicking on the picture on the side bar. If you don't have your very own copy, just let me know & I'll get one to you right away! Also, Sale-a-Bration begins later this month. If you haven't received your brochure, let me know and I'll make sure you have one before it begins on January 24, 2012.

If you're interested in Hosting a workshop, Sale-a-Bration is a super time to do it! You and your friends can earn Free product with a qualifying purchase.
