Retirement Party/Class

What a lot of Stampin' Fun! We held our Retirement Party/Class last week and had a great time sharing various projects! My project for the class was a 12x12 2-Page Layout. I've always wanted to do a layout using The Write Stuff DSP, and since it's one of the items that is retiring the end of June, that's what I decided to use. It's a great assortment of patterned paper & die cut journaling blocks. It has a "school" feel to it, but I wanted to show that it could be used for something other than just school pictures. I love taking pictures of my flowers & I thought it would be fun to use those.

I used my Big Shot and the Timeless Type Alphabet to create my title from one of the patterned papers. I also incorporated a small print from the Crushed Curry Patterns DSP. These are 12x12 packs of paper. They come with 12 sheets of one color; 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. They are great for your scrapbook pages, because the small prints coordinate so well with the patterns in the other Designer Series Papers. The current colors & designs will be retiring, so if these are something on your Wish List, stock up now, before they are gone!

Check out the lists of Retiring Stamp Sets, Accessories, & Home Decor. These items are while supplies last, and many of them are already gone. While you're there, look at the Clearance Rack. There are several great items on sale for up to 60% off. Remember you can order online, any time. Just be sure to choose a Demonstrator to get the preferred pricing and save 10% on your online order.

Here are some pictures of some the ladies enjoying making their projects.

I Do...

Well, actually I DID get a couple of projects done. I was feeling a bit icky yesterday, and had Makayla, so I'm surprised I got anything done. I was anxious to use my new dies for my Big Shot, so I set Makayla up at her table, and I worked at mine. She was happy, and made a card and painted. Of course, she had to have her turn at the Big Shot too. That's how easy it is! Even a 5 year old can do it. Her favorite was the biggest Scallop Circle, she used it to cut out pictures she had colored.

I made one card, which I'll share tomorrow, and a 12x12 Scrapbook page.

This is my son Jeremy's wedding invitation (which I made with the help of Heather and her mom and sister) and one of my favorite pictures from their wedding. The letters were cut with the Serif Essentials Alphabet. They are the perfect size for scrapbooking. Also perfect for putting a monogram on a card. The swirl is one of the new Bigz Decorative Accents Dies. I love the way it coordinates with the Designer Series Paper Raspberry Tart. I added Half Pearls from the Pretties Kit as accents, to coordinate with the beaded embroidery on Heather's dress.

Jeremy & Heather were married in June 2008, this is the first page that I have done for their wedding book. This has really inspired me to do more. I have around 500 pictures...maybe I can get them done for their 1st anniversary...oooh good idea!

Have a Happy & Loveable Valentines Day!

"You" Page

Better late than never...I hope you enjoy this page.

One of the new products in the new catalog is an 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" Chipboard Album. I love this size. You can use one 4 x 6 photo, like I did here, or, several wallet size photos or a 5 x 7 would also work nicely. Notice the scallop edge. This was created by using the new Scallop Edge Punch, another favorite new product. Actually, the stamp set, and almost all of the embellishments used on this page are new! Flight of the Butterfly is a 2-Step set of 10 stamps. It has the solid base for the butterfly, and three different designs to layer. There are also 3 swirly saying stamps, a sentiment and 2 accent stamps. It is a great stamp set, and very versatile. The subtle backgrounds on this page were created by stamping the images with Versa Mark on the cardstock. The flower embellishment is the Extra Large Baja Breeze 5-petal Felt Flower from the Flower Fusion Too Accent & Elements. The button is from the Button Bouquet assortment. The word "you" is chipboard letters from the On Board Loads of Letters. I colored them with a Sponge Dauber using the Whisper White Craft Ink. I have left a space at the bottom of the page for my journaling, which I will do using the Signo White Gel Pen.

Thanks for checking in today!
