One Week Only & Merry Banner

25 Stamp Sets 25% Off One Week Only!

Today's project is my Merry Banner. This was created using the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit. I love the Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit in the Holiday Catalog, but I wanted a banner with traditional red & greens, so I designed my own using the Season of Style Designer Series Paper and various stamps from the Holiday and Annual Catalogs.

The color I chose are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip. First, using the templates that come in the Banner Kit, and Sponge Daubers, I inked the backgrounds on the canvas banner pieces. Then, using Chocolate Chip ink, I stenciled the letters.

The rosettes were created with 2-1/4" strips of DSP 18" long. You'll need to cut two 12" pieces. Cut the second piece in half. Glue the 12" and one 6" piece together, end to end, creating an 18" strip. Score your strips every 1/2", accordion fold, and assemble your rosette. Decorate with your favorite stamps, embellishments, and ribbons and you're done!

Here is a close up of some of the detail. Notice the Red Rhinestone. Did you know that you can color your Basic Rhinestones and Pearls to coordinate with any project color? Using a Sharpie Marker, color your rhinestones or pearls before you adhere it to your project, let dry and viola! Beautiful color coordinating bling!

Wahoo!

This is September's Paper Pumpkin. I made one card per the directions in the kit, and decided to do something a little different. Using the supplies in the kit, and adding some extra card stock, Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon and Candy Dots, I created this adorable 8x8 scrapbook page!

The "you're amazing" stamp is from the Amazing Family stamp set. There are other words on the stamp, so I just used my Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker to color the words I wanted.

I love getting my surprise box in the mail each month! You can enjoy a 30-minute get-away each month too when you join My Paper Pumpkin. Join by the 10th of the month to receive your Welcome Kit that month. It's just $19.95 per month, and that includes shipping. Each kit has everything you need to complete your project, except adhesive. Click here to visit My Paper Pumpkin to sign up!

Witchy Canvas & New Set

I have another canvas project for you today. This one is a little different because I used the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper for my focal point. This sheet of paper has several blocks of words that you could use to make a collage of canvases to display for Halloween.

I created this one the same way as my Christmas Tree canvas. I applied the paper to my canvas with Modge Podge, stamped some fun images from the Halloween Hello stamp set with Black Stazon, added the Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape, a button and some bling!

Did you know that you can color your Basic Rhinestones and Pearls? I colored these rhinestones with an orange Sharpie Marker to coordinate with the Halloween theme. Before you remove the rhinestones or pearls from the paper backing, just choose a color to match your project, color, let dry a bit, then apply! I love these great little gems. I love them even more colored!

If you're looking for another Halloween stamp set to complete your projects, check out this super spooky new Photopolymer Set ~ Bite Me! I'm not crazy about spiders, but I really like this spider web. I just might be able to make myself stamp these silly little things on a project.Bite Me Photopolymer Stamp Set
I hope you enjoyed today's project. If you have any questions about how to create these fun canvases let me know.

Another Addiction!

Well friends, here is another project that once you make one, you'll definitely want to make more! During our Living a Creative Life class at Convention, Carrie Cudney presented a super fun Halloween canvas that she created using mixed media. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to try it. Well, today I finally got to it. I Love it!

I started with a white 6x6 canvas purchased at my local craft store. I liked the primitive look of Carrie's project and wanted to keep that theme. I thought a Christmas tree would be an easy image to start with. I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog, cut into strips to form my tree.

As I was laying out my design, I thought how cute would it be to put a ruffle at the bottom of the tree. After I tried it, I thought how cute would it be to put a ruffle between each layer! I used the Baked Brown Sugar 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim. This trim comes in all the great new In-Colors.

I made the trunk of the tree using the "bark" paper from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit, also found in the Holiday Catalog. I inked the edges of all the paper strips and added some faux stitching to keep with the primitive look.

I am totally addicted to these adorable canvases. I have all kinds of images running around in my head that I want to try. I can't wait to make more!
