Flirtatious Bag with Flower

I thought my bag from my previous post was a bit plain, so I added a matching fabric flower.

I cut the flowers with my Big Shot and the Flower Folds Die. One of the greatest things about cutting fabric with your Big Shot, is that you can cut up to 8 layers at one time! So I only had to run the fabric through one time to get all 6 flowers. I sprayed them with fabric stiffener, crumpled them a bit and let them dry. Then I layered them, off setting them so I could see all of the cute patterns. I added a Designer Button with a bit of Baker's Twine tied in the center and hand sewed it to the bag.

I think it's just the perfect finishing touch!

Flirtatious Canvas Bag

Today's project is a sewing project. I haven't sewn in forever! I literally had to dust off my sewing machine. I was so excited to get my Flirtatious Fabric. I ordered several others too! I have lots of other projects in mind I can't wait to do.

This was an ordinary canvas bag. I just added some ruffles to dress it up! Each fabric assortment comes with 3 coordinating designs in a fat-quarter size. That's 27"x18", plenty of fabric to create a variety of fun projects.

I cut 3" strips, hemmed them, gathered them up and sewed them on the bag. Then, even though the Melon Mambo Pom Pom Trim is discontinued, I couldn't resist adding it! I think I may even have to add some flowers or buttons. The possibilities are endless!

Things have been busy here in the Studio and around the house! I had a garage sale over Memorial Day weekend and the weekend after that, clearing out some of my older product to make room for all of the New things I have on my Wish List from the 2011/2012 Idea Book & Catalog. I had my Cards, Cards, Cards class where we made 20 cards each, to replenish our card stash. We had such a great day of stamping fun. Here's a peek of the cards that we made.


My mom had surgery on her foot and couldn't get out in to her flower beds. That had really been bothering her, so my sisters and I spent a couple of days weeding & mulching and getting things caught up for her. She has a huge yard with lots of huge flower beds, but with the 4 of us it really didn't take long at all!

We celebrated Father's Day with my husband's family at our house, so there was cooking & cleaning to be done for that.

I decided to teach summer art classes for kids, and had the first one yesterday. These are not all Stampin' Up! related, and yesterday the kids painted on 8x10 canvas. It was fun to see them experience their creative freedom.

I'm definitely ready to get back in to the Studio, with some of the new toys that I've received and start creating again. I do have a project to share. I've seen these frames done up and had to try one for myself. This is some retired paper that I kept, because it will look nice hanging in my Living Room. Now that I've done this one, I can't wait to do one for each of my Grand Daughters with bright fun girly colors!

Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch

Holy cow! I can't believe it's been a month again since I've posted! Things have been busy around here. I had another niece get married, we're closing in on the end of another school year, I've taught some great classes, we've had some illness ~ including me ~ ugh! I'm also preparing for a Huge Garage Sale. I'm clearing out my studio ~ again ~ in preparation for the new catalog release in July! I had a great class this past weekend. We made a 2-Page Scrapbook Page Layout featuring the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch in the Summer Mini. I was intrigued when I saw it, and just had to have it. It is awesome! You know the little directions pamphlet that comes with the unique punches that you (I) usually set aside thinking "I know how to use a punch". Well, you'll want to make sure to read this one.
