More Delicate Dots

Here's another card featuring the Designer Series Paper Delicate Dots, and the So Saffron 58" Grosgrain Ribbon. The flower and the leaves are Embosslits. These cut and emboss your shape all at the same time. It is a little hard to see here, but I sponged the raised part of the flower, to make it stand out just a little more.

I added a Rhinestone Brad to the center of the flower, and on the sentiment. This stamp is from the Pocket Silhouette Stamp Set. I punched it out with the Word Window Punch.

Remember, if you are interested in earning any of these Sale-a-Bration products FREE, contact me, or visit my website. Sale-a-Bration runs through March 31, 2009.

Enjoy your weekend. We'll be heading to Marco Island tomorrow to visit my sister and brother-in-law to see their new home.

A Little Something For You

Today's project is simple but cute. This is the Bigz Top Note Die. I like the way this looks like the flap of an envelope. Oh...how cute would this be stamped on the flap of an envelope!

The stamp is from the Sale-a-Bration set Yummy. This is one stamp, and it was designed to fit the Top Note Die perfectly. I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to get it positioned just right. The paper is from the Designer Series Paper Delicate Dots, also one of the Sale-a-Bration choices, as is the So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today!

One Catalog A Year!

I am excited to announce that Stampin' Up! has decided to go back to one catalog a year. I am very happy with their decision. Personally, as a Demonstrator, I always felt like 6 months was too short of a selling time for all of the new product that was introduced. About the time I felt like I had a good amount of display projects, it was time for the new catalog. Which meant retiring stamp sets, etc., that I could no longer use for workshops and classes. Now, I have an entire year! I feel much better about that. This change will take place beginning with the new catalog in July 2009. There will also be 3 mini catalogs a year, each running for 4 months. Another very exciting announcement is that they are going to introduce a small selection of Hostess sets in each mini. This means there will be new sets each mini that you can earn for FREE. I just LOVE this Company ~ They really do listen and respect our opinions.

And now today's project. This is a cute Scallop Card that I created with...you guessed it...my Big Shot. I guess I already said that this week would be Big Shot week. Anyway...this is the Bigz Scallop Circle Die. I cut two of them (at the same time!) and scored the top one so the card would open nicely.

Notice the Eyelet Border ~ I wasn't kidding when I said that everything may need this! This cute little bird paper is from the Designer Series Paper Good Morning Sunshine, and the large eyelet is from the Designer Hardware Hooray. I did not "set" this eyelet in my card. I used my Crop-a-Dile to flatten the eyelet part, and then just fed the ribbon through the hole and tied a knot. Then I used a glue dot to adhere it to the top of the card. I stamped the little bird from the Cheep Talk Stamp Set inside with the sentiment.

As you read this, Scott & I are on our way to Florida to visit my parents. But, no worries, I am actually organized, and have several posts already prepared for the time that we will be gone.

I will do my best to bring sunny & warm home with me!

Box #2

Today's project features the new Bigz XL Big Shot Die Box #2. I have used several new items on this cute little box. Check out that scallop! This is the new Eyelet Border Punch. It looks like real eyelet, but it is actually punched from Whisper White Cardstock. I'm thinking everything is going to need an eyelet border. :) And just look at that perfectly cut and embossed flower. This was created with the new Cherry Blossom Embosslit Die. Have I told you how much I LOVE my Big Shot! I think I probably have, numerous times!

I was a bit hesitant to purchase one, because I have never been big on "die cuts". I guess my mind was stuck in the past, when a die cut was just a flat piece of cardstock cut into a simple shape. Well, they've come a long way! I truly do love my Big Shot, and I do use it all the time. It has been well worth the investment. This week is pretty much dedicated to projects using the Big Shot and some of the new products available. As I mentioned before, if you are considering adding the Big Shot to your "must have" tools, now is the time to do just that. During Sale-a-Bration, you can earn FREE product with a qualifying purchase. If you were to order the Big Shot Starter Kit, which includes everything you need to get you started, you would earn 4 FREE Sale-a-Bration items! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Here is a picture of the box opened, so you can see how perfect it is for a sweet little treat. Check back tomorrow for another Big Shot project.
I forgot to mention, that when you cut this, it is all one piece, all scored and ready to fold and decorate. No assembly required! Very quick & simple.
Have a Great week!

Hello There!

As promised, I would like you to meet the other little bird from the Cheep Talk Stamp Set. This time I used Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss Cardstock. A bright summery color combination! The circle was cut from the Designer Series Paper Good Morning Sunshine. This is one of the papers we will be using in my class in March. Both of these cute little flowers and the sentiment are from this stamp set too! I stamped the mini flower randomly to create the background, and used my Uni-Ball Signo White Gel Pen to make the centers. I really like the way it makes them pop! This is my favorite gel pen, they work so smoothly...if you don't have one, you've got to try one...they are yummy! The center of the Kiwi Kiss flower is a Rhinestone Brad from the Circle Ice assortment, and the ribbon is the Double-Sided Satin Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla. I wish SU would introduce this ribbon in some other colors...I love it too! Oh, do you like the way I rounded the corners? Just a fun variation for cards.

As always, I really appreciate your visits. Have a great day.

Cheep Talk

I hope you don't mind, but I thought it was time for the snow to go away. It's very sunny here today...but cold! I don't know about you, but I am ready for some warmer temps.

I got interrupted yesterday in the middle of preparing the post for my blog. I scheduled it to post at 8:00 pm thinking that would give me plenty of time to get back to it and finish it. HA! Obviously, that didn't happen...now I am actually a project ahead!

I Love today's project. This is the Cheep Talk Stamp Set. It is so stinkin' cute. There are two little birds, this one, and the other one I will show you on Monday. So, if you don't have a catalog, you'll have to pop back by to meet him. I also love this trendy color combination. Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip. I used half of a Top Note Die, and the Ribbon is the 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain.

Thanks for stopping in to visit today! Have a spectacular weekend.

Where Does The Time Go?

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since Monday! This week has really flown by. With working, babysitting, typical household chores, and just life in general, I am amazed how quickly each day passes.

I am spending a lot of time with Makayla, and I wouldn't change that for the world. Casey is taking a full load this semester, and I try to keep Makayla entertained so she can study. Believe me, sometimes that is harder than "working" all day. She loves to join me in my craft room, but when she does, I'm not very productive. But again, I don't mind, I love to watch her when she's creating. When she is playing or doing anything, she is always singing, or just humming. If you have ever been around her, you know what I mean. She will either sing a song about whatever she is playing ~ making up her own words ~ or just hum. She is actually sitting at the table next to me, singing as I type.

Decorative Accents

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Some of you may be enjoying one extra day with today being President's Day. I wonder how often we have Friday the 13th, Valentine's Day, and President's Day all in the same weekend!

I didn't get to play this weekend, but I do have the card that I made last week to share with you. This is the other new Bigz Decorative Accents die for the Big Shot.
It's almost too big, but I was determined to use it on a card, so I offset it a bit and trimmed it to fit. I layered the Wide Oval Punch and the Large Oval Punch for the sentiment. The words "So Kind" are from the Priceless set. This is still one of my favorite sets. You can see it on page 121 of the catalog. The cardstock colors are Pretty in Pink and Rose Red. The printed paper is from the Designer Series Paper Raspberry Tart. And you know me, no card is complete without ribbon!

As I looked at my card when I thought I was finished, I decided it needed something else, it was just a little too plain. I started looking through all of my embellishments, and it came to me. I haven't used my Pretties Kit in a while. Voila! The addition of the small half pearls was perfect!

Remember when I told you that Makayla made a card too, while I was working the other day. Well, I got her permission to share that card with you. She got out my display boards, and picked a card to "copy". She has her own supplies, and picked her paper and cut it with scissors. I did help her straighten a couple of the cuts. She did all of the stamping and assembly by herself. Here is her card, and the one she used to copy.

I hope you enjoyed today's project. Thank you so much for visiting!

I Do...

Well, actually I DID get a couple of projects done. I was feeling a bit icky yesterday, and had Makayla, so I'm surprised I got anything done. I was anxious to use my new dies for my Big Shot, so I set Makayla up at her table, and I worked at mine. She was happy, and made a card and painted. Of course, she had to have her turn at the Big Shot too. That's how easy it is! Even a 5 year old can do it. Her favorite was the biggest Scallop Circle, she used it to cut out pictures she had colored.

I made one card, which I'll share tomorrow, and a 12x12 Scrapbook page.

This is my son Jeremy's wedding invitation (which I made with the help of Heather and her mom and sister) and one of my favorite pictures from their wedding. The letters were cut with the Serif Essentials Alphabet. They are the perfect size for scrapbooking. Also perfect for putting a monogram on a card. The swirl is one of the new Bigz Decorative Accents Dies. I love the way it coordinates with the Designer Series Paper Raspberry Tart. I added Half Pearls from the Pretties Kit as accents, to coordinate with the beaded embroidery on Heather's dress.

Jeremy & Heather were married in June 2008, this is the first page that I have done for their wedding book. This has really inspired me to do more. I have around 500 pictures...maybe I can get them done for their 1st anniversary...oooh good idea!

Have a Happy & Loveable Valentines Day!

By the way, I'm feeling much better today :)

Stampin' Up! has released a new video featuring Jaron Winder demonstrating the Big Shot, and the New Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die. You can access the video from my Demonstrator website: http://www.debbied.stampinup.net/. I have mentioned using the Big Shot a lot lately for several of my projects. When you get there, just scroll down a bit, and you will see "featured projects" click on that picture to view the video.

If you have been thinking about purchasing this fabulous die cutting machine, now, during Sale-a-Bration would be a great time to do so. If you purchased the machine by itself, you would earn 2 Sale-a-Bration sets. If you purchased the Bundle, which includes everything you need to get started using your Big Shot, you would earn 4 Sale-a-Bration sets! Mini Valentine Family Photo Book

One of the ladies who attends my classes on a regular basis shared her Valentine project with me, and gave me permission to share them with you. She is always making the cutest things for her grandsons to give to their teachers & friends. She made 33 of these adorable Valentine Family Photo Books. She used the Big Shot and Top Note Die to cut the covers from Cardstock and pages from various patterned papers. She added a bit of patterned paper and ribbon to the front, stamped the word {Family, and bound them together with a large brad.

Here is a picture showing the album opened. It is ready for the lucky recipient to add their favorite pictures. You could do this in a Birthday theme and give them to everyone as a favor for attending a Birthday party. A vacation album would also be fun. Just add a few of your favorite pictures so you could carry your memories with you where ever you go. How fun for a Grandma. Just add photos of those little sweeties, tie it on to your purse, and you have a brag book with you at all times.

To present the gift, Sally put each photo book in a cello bag with a topper with the nicest saying. I can't read who the quote is from: "It all starts and ends with Family." Here's a little photo book to keep your Family always close to your heart. Happy Valentines Day!
This is a great use of the Big Shot and Top Note Die. Also an inexpensive way to create fun little photo books for endless occasions that you can share with all of your family & friends.
Thanks Sally for sharing! I think I'll go make a couple for myself.
Not all products used in these samples are Stampin' Up!, but they are just so cute, I had to share!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Love Birds

Aren't they just so cute? These little Love Birds are from the Designer Series Paper Candy Lane. I saw this card and just had to try it. The birds are actually printed in the corner of the pink polka dot paper. I cut them out to fit on a card, and used my Hobby Blade to make a slit on the wings to make it look like they are holding the heart. The heart is from the Love You Much Stamp Set. I stamped it on Whisper White and cut it out and then layered it on Riding Hood Red.

This was supposed to be another day off, but work just called and two people are sick so I'm going to fill in. Now I have to go get ready...no more playing today.

See you tomorrow!

That is the name of this adorable Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set. Look how cute it is on this little popcorn box. I got these at Michael's in the Wilton Cake Decorating isle. This set would also be really cute to use on the front of a gift card envelope when giving someone a gift card to a restaurant, or on a little treat bag or cello bag topper with goodies inside. More Polka Dots & Snow!

I have been puttering around the house this morning, just doing some early morning household tasks before I actually start my day. It's almost light now, and I just noticed that it is snowing...again! Not just a little flurry here & there, it is really coming down. I guess the groundhog was right...it looks like we will be having 6 more weeks of winter. I do love the snow, but I am definitely ready for sunny & warm.
Here is another card using the Polka Dot Punches Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set. I was inspired by one of the cards on the front of the Sale-a-Bration brochure. I changed it just a little, but the basics are the same. I love the combination of colors, and "popping" the centers of the flowers. You can see here how the Swirly Circle coordinates with the Scallop Circle Punch.

As always, thanks for checking in!

Polka Dot Punches

I'm running a little behind today. I'm still catching up from waking up at 3:00 Saturday morning with a migraine, and working yesterday and this morning. I do however, have a card, just as I promised. It's pretty simple, but I like it.

This is one of the stamp sets that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration! I Love this set. It comes with 4 stamps, and they each coordinate with a different punch. This makes it so easy to layer these cute designs.

This is the Flower design. I punched it out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, and layered it on a Riding Hood Red 1-3/8" Circle. There is also a Heart that coordinates with the new Full Heart Punch, a 5-Petal Flower, and a Swirly Scallop the coordinates with the Scallop Circle Punch.

There is one more promotion for Spring that you'll definitely want to take advantage of. Every time you place an order Online from now through April 30, you will get a Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog completely FREE!
